After experimenting with DesktopTwo, I find that I don’t really need it. Yes, it offers a number of common desktop applications, but I already have those applications on my own desktop, as well as any other desktop that I’m going to use. Why should I fire up a web browser and consume extra RAM with a bloated Java applet to access different versions of those apps?
The only thing I need is online storage space. The perfect solution would be if Google provided a Gdrive with, say, 10 GB of storage and an AJAX interface that looked like a file manager, and the ability to drag-and-drop files from my file manager onto the Gdrive interface for automatic uploads. The whole thing could be supported by an Adsense panel on the side, with the option to purchase more storage space.
